Gamevan Is Not Suitable for Anyone Under the Age of 6

At Gamevan, the safety of every child onboard is our number one priority.

That’s why Gamevan is strictly for children aged 6 and over.

We completely understand that it can be upsetting for younger children when they see older brothers, sisters or friends climbing aboard for a Gamevan party. We know nobody likes saying “no” to an excited child.

However, this rule exists for one very important reason:

Safety.

Our minimum age requirement is explained throughout the booking process, included in our Terms & Conditions and confirmed again before your party takes place. Despite this, we still occasionally find children under the age of six boarding the van, and we’d like to explain why this rule is so important.

Safety Comes First

Gamevan has been purpose-built to provide an incredible gaming experience, but it has not been designed as a play area for very young children.

While the interior is safe and comfortable for children aged six and over, younger children require a much higher level of supervision and can quickly find themselves in situations that present unnecessary risks.

Entering and Leaving the Van

Access to Gamevan is via a set of steps.

Older children are generally able to climb these safely and confidently, but younger children are far more likely to trip, stumble or require assistance when getting on and off the van.

Throughout every party, children may also leave the van to use the toilet, collect birthday cake or head home. Having very young children using the steps increases the risk of accidents and means our staff must constantly divert their attention to assisting them.

Cooling Fans and Equipment

Gamevan is home to high-performance gaming equipment, including consoles and other electrical equipment that rely on cooling fans and ventilation systems.

While these are perfectly safe when used correctly, they are not designed for curious little fingers. Younger children are naturally more inquisitive and are far more likely to touch equipment, reach into ventilation openings or explore areas that older children simply ignore.

Preventing this requires constant supervision, which takes our focus away from running the party.

Attention Span

Our parties are carefully designed for children aged six and above.

At this age, children are generally able to sit comfortably, follow instructions, take turns, play games together and remain engaged throughout the session. Children under six often have much shorter attention spans. It’s completely natural for them to become restless, wander around the van, move between seating areas or lose interest in the games being played.

Again, this means our staff have to focus on keeping younger children safe rather than delivering the best possible experience for the birthday child and their guests.

The Birthday Child Should Always Be the Focus

Every Gamevan party is about creating an unforgettable experience for the child celebrating their birthday.

When a child under the age of six is onboard, our staff inevitably have to spend additional time supervising them and ensuring they remain safe.

That attention is taken away from where it should be—making sure the birthday child and their friends are having the best party possible.

Our goal is to deliver an amazing experience for every child on board, and maintaining our minimum age policy helps us do exactly that.

We kindly ask all party organisers to make sure that every guest and their parents are aware that Gamevan is strictly for children aged 6 and over.

It is the organiser’s responsibility to ensure that no child under the age of six boards the van at any point during the party.

For the safety of everyone involved, Gamevan reserves the right to end a party immediately if this rule is not followed. While we sincerely hope this is never necessary, the safety of every child onboard will always come before anything else.

If a party is ended because children under the age of six have been allowed onboard, no refund or partial refund will be given. This policy is in place because the minimum age requirement is clearly explained throughout the booking process, included in our Terms & Conditions, and forms part of the agreement when making a booking.

We know this may seem like a firm policy, but it exists for one reason only—to protect every child onboard and allow our staff to deliver the safe, fun and memorable experience that Gamevan is known for.
